What is a website where I can submit my own poems and writing and get peer reviews in return?

Where can I get and give reviews online for things I write such as stories and poems?
I’ve used sites such as quizilla and blogger. I don’t get much feedback from them however…

I would like user submitted data, possibly some published. But members critiquing other members.

Try fictionpress.net. It’s your best bet I’d say.

Take a look at the following website:

    http://www.coffeehouseforwriters.com

This is my sister’s website. She is a professional writer and she and her husband started this website to just exactly what you are looking for.

    http://urbis.com/ispeaknonsensestuff

you can register from there. ^^
i linked you to my profile, it’s the referral process.

the system is “members critiquing other members”. they use “credits” to ensure people actually review and not just write. credits work like currency. you pay for reviews with ‘em. and it can get pretty annoying to know you have a new review but can’t read it yet since you’re out of credits. what you have to do is review other people so you earn credits to pay for your “locked” reviews.

if that didn’t make sense, here’s the site’s explanation:

Q: What are Urbis credits and what do I do with them?

A: Urbis uses credits as a currency to balance reviews among members. You earn credits when you review the work of other people and refer friends to the site. You spend credits to unlock the reviews you receive. Credits are calculated using both the length of the item reviewed and the length of the review written.

there are even ratings. like, you can ask them to rate how publishable your work is… stuff like that.

http://www.helium.com You not only get critiqued by other writers you can get paid. They also have contests that are brief in duration. Some as little as only a week. Plus they give you titles that specific publishers are looking for. They really offer a lot. I love it and it’s all free.

    You could try LiveJournal.com

Its free & you can make your profile public so people can comment or give ideas on your writing. Good luck with your search!

Well, how much feedback do you leave for other writers on them?

What a lot of amateur writers miss is that the other people on these sites don’t consider themselves readers. They consider themselves writers. Why should they spend a lot of time reviewing someone who never reviews in return?

If this isn’t you, then you just have to be patient. Review the sort of people who you would like to review you, and put some effort into it. Even if they don’t review you in return, eventually somebody will notice your reviews and take a look at your writing.

There are other sites, lots of them – have you tried http://www.fictionpress.com or fannation.shades-of-moonlight.com?

You could also try a critique site such as http://www.critiquecircle.com. Join in there, and you are guaranteed some in-depth critiques which it comes round to your turn to post your work. But they won’t be the sort of glowing praise you get on archive sites.
